LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
I live and work in what is now called Toronto (Tkaron:to). For thousands of years it has been the traditional territory of Huron-Wendat, Anishinabek, Haudenosaunee, the Mississaugas of the New Credit and Métis Nations. Toronto is in the ‘Dish with One Spoon Territory’. The Dish with One Spoon is a treaty between the Anishinaabe, Mississaugas and Haudenosaunee that bound them to share the territory and protect the land. Subsequent nations and people have been invited into this treaty in the spirit of peace, friendship and respect. As people have said before, north of us, south of us, east and west is and will always be, Indigenous Land.

As a settler and relative newcomer to Turtle Island, I am committed to ongoing reflection and inner work around decolonizing my thinking and holding space for others to do the same. I continue learning how to work and be in community with respect and integrity for all who have come before me as well as generations to come.
